Deltrain, a Portugal-based manufacturer of tourist trains, has launched its first urban model: Vision.

According to the company, Vision is the “maximum exponent of the combination between modernity and ergonomics”.

The standard Vision model comes with automatic gearbox and pneumatic suspension in carriages, which provides extra comfort for passengers in an urban vehicle with sophisticated environment. It has a turning circle of 11m and and maximum climbing gradient of 15 per cent.

Optional equipment includes air conditioning, ramp access for people with reduced mobility, multilingual system, panoramic roofs and supports for advertising in the coaches.

“The traditional model gives way to urban elegance by breaking up with the rail train imitation and by standing up with a modern look,” Deltrain said. “Vision distinguishes itself by the bold design, unmistakable style and the wide visibility that served as inspiration for its name.”

In addition to the new Vision train, Deltain is also due to start production of its first electric model later this year.
