The spirit of one of Paris’ most famous bastions of entertainment will come to Germany’s largest theme park this summer as the Mack family operated venue near Freiburg relaunches its EuroSat rollercoaster with a French twist.

The popular ride will reopen this summer as EuroSat – CanCan Coaster after extensive refurbishment. A landmark of Europa-Park’s French themed area since 1989, the coaster is based inside a giant sphere and will have its rails and cables completely renewed by Mack Rides.

For the first time on this attraction, pasengers will be offered the choice of either a VR or non-VR ride experience as part of Europa-Park’s Coastiality offering. A second station with shift track and separate trains will be integrated into the dark rollercoaster to make this possible.

The entire façade will meanwhile be given a vivid new look celebrating the Paris institution Moulin Rouge, where the Can Can dance is famously performed. To bring the spirit of the 1889 vaudeville theatre to Europa-Park, the Mack family has signed a licence agreement with its owners, the Clerico family.

Work has been ongoing on upgrading the French themed area of the park since summer 2017. Right by the entrance to EuroSat – CanCan Coaster, visitors can also explore the new souvenir shop Madame Freudenreich Curiosités, which replaces the former Universe of Energy attraction. Other additions include a floating bistro boat spanning two floors and a water fountain show that will entertain visitors every half hour with different French music.

But that’s not all. From the start of the season (March 24), the English themed area of Europa-Park will welcome the arrival of Paddington the bear, after his appearance this winter in a special Coastiality VR film on the park’s Alpenexpress rollercoaster. Meanwhile in Greece, a new ice show will be dedicated to the cuddly children’s book character and film star.
