Polin Waterparks has been recognised as one of the few official research and development (R&D) centres in its home country of Turkey.

The company, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, received the certification from the Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, following an audit and inspection.

It is the first business to receive an official R&D centre accreditation in the waterpark sector.

Founded in 1976, Polin has become well-known across the industry for its innovation in the design, engineering and installation of waterparks, waterslides and water play attractions.

The R&D centre certificate is earned by domestic brands in different sectors in Turkey. The certification required Polin Waterparks to meet strict criteria to prove its dedication to innovation in its field.

For its part, Polin is already recognised as a pioneer in the field of innovative advancement and application of closed-moulded manufacturing technology in waterslide development. Today, the firm continues to focus on high-quality design and innovation patents.

In 2016, the company was honoured with the ‘Leading Edge’ award, the industry’s most prestigious, by the World Waterpark Association.

Polin Waterparks performs all its manufacturing in Turkey, in a 35,000sq.m, state-of-the-art facility specially designed for waterslide production.

Ali Cansun, Polin’s R&D director, said achieving the R&D certification is an honour that underscores the company’s efforts to continue reaching for new goals.

“It is just one more opportunity for us to showcase our dedication and commitment to the waterpark industry,” he said. “This year, those goals include an increase in the productivity of our products and services. We also will be focused on even greater innovation and quality for our customers.”
