Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to build a new theme park resort in China.

The world’s largest regional theme park operator, along with partner Riverside Investment Group, said it expects a new Six Flags-branded theme park and adjacent waterpark to open in Bishan, a district of Chongqing, in late 2020.

“The development of two additional Six Flags-branded parks in Bishan speaks to our commitment to create memorable experiences for families worldwide,” said John Odum, president of Six Flags International Development Company.

The first Six Flags theme park and waterpark in China are anticipated to open in 2019 and will be located in Haiyan, Zhejiang Province, near Shanghai.
