Parques Reunidos’ flagship Dutch park Slagharen will unveil an adventure trail called Black Hill Ranger Path this autumn.

The €1.3 million course will feature four zones spread over three levels. This will include a rope course with no fewer than 36 obstacles. For real daredevils there is a 115m-long roll glider, unique in the Benelux. For the climbing enthusiasts there is an 8m high climbing wall. There will also be various boulders over which visitors can climb.

The attraction will feature an accompanying storyline based on the Irish adventurer John Wallace Crawford. At the age of 14, John moved with his parents to North America. The commander of the group of Black Hill Rangers, he guided emigrants over dangerous canyons and impassable paths.

During their journey through the Black Hill Ranger Path, adventurers at Slagharen will bridge various obstacles, where they are helped by the rangers in a harness to reach the other side safely.

In recent years, Parques Reunidos has made several investments in the Wild West themed park close to the German border. These include the addition of the triple launch coaster Gold Rush, an indoor/outdoor waterpark called Aqua Mexicana, new entertainment, a new entrance and extra parking space.
