Andreas Veilstrup Andersen, CEO of Liseberg in Sweden since 2011, is to start a new position as executive vice president at Tivoli Gardens Copenhagen, where he will be on the Executive Committee.

During his time at Liseberg amusement park in Gothenburg, the site has undergone major changes, including the opening of a series of new attractions likes Valkyria, Helix and the children’s area known as Rabbit Land.

During Andreas Veilstrup Andersen’s rein as CEO, the construction of an on-site hotel and an indoor waterpark are in the starting blocks, in what will be the largest expansion in Liseberg’s history.

“I am very proud of the Liseberg that I have been involved in managing and developing. But I am most proud of my fantastic colleagues, whom I know will take Liseberg to new heights,” Andreas Veilstrup Andersen commented.

The board of directors at Liseberg are to embark on a recruitment search for a new CEO. Christer Holmgren, chairman of the Liseberg board, says he is hopeful they will find a replacement for Andersen in due course.

“Andreas has done a fantastic job as CEO of Liseberg and he leaves a very well-run company. It is important for us to find the right person who can continue to lead Liseberg into the future, said Holmgren.
