Attractions closed during California fires
Though the fires have largely avoided most of the facilities, smoke, dust clouds, poor air quality, road closures and evacuations have forced the facilities to close for now. Those affected so far include SeaWorld San Diego, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Legoland and some museums.
To date, none of the major attractions in Los Angeles have been forced to close. Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, which is usually shut on weekdays at this time of year, will open for its Fright Fest events – from October 26-31 – as planned.
With the hurricane strength winds today dying down, fire fighters are hopeful that the bulk of the fires will be easier to contain, despite the lack of forecast rain.
