Over recent years, Busfabriken of Scandinavia has grown to become one of the region’s leading indoor play centre operators – and the company is targeting further expansion in 2017.

Company founder Tony Andreasson opened the first two Busfabriken venues in Sweden in 2006. Since that time the company has grown to operate 10 centres across Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

The company will soon cut the ribbon on a new facility in Uppsala, Sweden, with the venue featuring indoor bumper cars from US-based Ride Development Company (RDC).

“We were recommended by other companies to choose RDC cars,” explained company spokesman Jimmy Andreasson. “We already have RDC cars in operation in three of our venues, and also plan to install them in Oslo, where we have just bought a building for $15m.”

The growth of the Busfabriken concept shows no sign of slowing in 2017, as the group puts the finishing touches to yet another new facility, Eventyrfabrikken Mega Center in Copenhagen. At 9,000sq.m, the facility will be Scandinavia’s biggest indoor playground.

“Eventyrfabrikken Mega Center differs from our other playgrounds both in theme, size and activities,” Andreasson told InterPark. “It’s the biggest centre we have ever built and the activities will attract children of all ages.

“We have created an amazing, fun and exited construction filled with adventures and things to explore. It features two car tracks, competition tracks, trampolines, adventure tracks and toddler areas. We have also invested in a 7D movie theatre, a laser tag court and have nine themed party rooms.”
