During Canada’s somewhat overlooked Thanksgiving weekend, Calypso Theme Waterpark welcomed over 12,000 visitors who caught an exclusive look at 35 water slides and attractions across the huge 100-acre site in Ontario.

"It was an emotional moment for the employees at Calypso Theme Waterpark, who finally welcomed the region’s population," said Guy Drouin, president and CEO of Groupe Village Vacances Valcartier, which operates the park.

The construction of the new theme waterpark generated more than 100 jobs over the past two years and, according to the operator, will result in the creation of 500 new seasonal jobs in the lifeguarding, food and beverage services, as well as retail, maintenance and guest services.
