Formerly Camelot Theme Park, the area in Charnock Richard, Chorley has been transformed once again into a fully interactive horror attraction.

Known as Camelot Rises, the scream fest will open for a second dose of terror this autumn, just in time for Halloween.

Park ‘N Party, who run the horror-themed event, set the horror scene: “Want to be scared out of your mind? Scare City is back – bigger, better, and bloodier than ever. Confront the fear of the unknown, as a 2km long trail leads victims through countless zones of pure, unadulterated terror. For the first time ever, this really is a city full of scares.

“Walk through a living nightmare as you pass through such depraved horrors as Knightmare Alley, the Forest of Fears, and Medieval Murder Zone. Do not fear – there are plenty more deliciously evil zones to meet your end in, as you attempt to survive a mile long trek through the unknown.

“Complete with live actors to scare you witless, this 2-hour immersive experience is for those seeking the ultimate fair of scares. Experience the world’s longest outdoor horror attraction. Visit Scare City and prepare for an eternal stay. You’ll be lucky to make it out alive.”

If the first coming of Camelot Rises, which debuted last spring, is anything to go by then be prepared for the fright of your life.

Camelot Rises was an immersive zombie drive-in experience and catered for both adults and kids, including interactive elements with actors dressed in terror-themed costumes scaring visitors as they drive through a one mile zombie-laden trail. Special effects included smoke, bright lights, loud noises and attacks from ‘zombies’.

This led to a cinema-style setting where guests parked their cars to watch a horror movie – while getting spooked by Camelot ‘neighbours’.

There were four large cinema screens featuring full length shows with up to three horror films shown daily. The film’s audio was tuned through the car radio with FM frequency.

The macabre Camelot Rises is unawaken again.
