Turner Asia Pacific has announced a licensing partnership with Indonesian real-estate and hospitality investment company The MAJ Group to develop a family entertainment destination in Bali.

The 4.3-hectare development will feature the island’s largest waterpark in addition to an indoor entertainment centre, or FEC – all with Cartoon Network theming. Slated to be fully operational in 2020, the waterpark will include thrilling water rides, as you’d expect, plus massive surf and wave pools. The integrated project will be a key part of The MAJ Nusa Dua complex, a southern Bali tourist destination featuring world-class hotels and a award-golf course.

“Turner and The MAJ Group share the same vision of creating the ultimate family destination in Indonesia,” says Ricky Ow, president of Turner Asia Pacific. “The entertainment park will combine world-class design with unparalleled Balinese hospitality.”

Cartoon Network is Asia’s leading kids entertainment brand. This will be Indonesia’s first ever
theme park/waterpark to partner with an international brand, and it will be Cartoon Network’s first with both indoor and outdoor attractions. The environment will be brought to life by live entertainment and performances featuring characters from shows such as Ben 10, We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time.

Other Cartoon Network-branded projects family attractions around the world include the Cartoon Network Amazone waterpark in Thailand, a themed zone at IMG Worlds of Adventures in Dubai, Amaazia waterpark in India and a Cartoon Network Wave cruise liner in Asia Pacific.
The MAJ Group is the real-estate and hospitality investment platform of Ancora Group, a diversified investment group based in Jakarta. It owns and operates various hospitality destinations in Indonesia.
