Designed to promote a healthy, smart and fun-filled guest experience when its parks reopen, Cedar Fair has expanded its suite of mobile apps.

Cedar Fair, a leader in amusement park and waterpark entertainment, is adding new technology and features to enhance mobile app capabilities to enable a safe and efficient experience for guests and staff when its parks reopen.

The app upgrades include new digital payment capabilities and mobile app location modules. Guests will be able to make reservations to the park via the mobile app. Once a reservation has been made, guests will receive a time-bound entry voucher which appears on the mobile app when they login.

Season passes will also automatically appear on the mobile app. Upon arrival to the parks, tickets will be scanned via the app. Health questionnaires can also be mostly completed via the app prior to arriving at the parks.

The app will also provide real-time alerts regarding any capacity constraints in place that may affect their visit. Enhanced cashless payments via the app will be encouraged to reduce the need for cash and touchpoints.

The advanced apps will feature mapping and wayfinding modules to enable guests to find their way round the parks with ease and to limit potential overcrowding.

Richard Zimmerman, CEO of Cedar Fair, commented on the enhanced Cedar Fair apps: “The safety of our guests and associates has always been, and will always be, our highest priority. I’m pleased that our internal health and safety experts, as well as state and local government officials, have informed the development and implementation of these technology enhancements which, when combined with our other in-park safety procedures being implemented, should help renew the public’s confidence when visiting our parks.

“Our more robust suite of mobile technologies not only strengthens the safety measures recommended by health officials, but also offers exciting, guest-friendly alternatives that could very well enhance the overall guest experience for the long term,” said Zimmerman.

The official opening dates of Cedar Fair parks have not yet been confirmed.
