The Christmas Festival of Lights, the biggest Christmas lights event in Victoria, Australia, is returning to Adventure Park this year.

The Christmas celebration will run for 43 days, transforming the waterpark into a festive wonderland.

A 2km walking trail will be lit up in an additional 700,000 lights. New to this year’s event is the Lunar Lantern Exhibit, featuring a mighty 20m dragon, lanterns and animals from the zodiac. There will also be a Fantasyland, with a 12m smoke breathing dragon, an 8m caterpillar and butterflies.

The festival will also be home to a Psychedelic Tunnel, which runs for 25m, a Loch Ness Monster, and much more.

Eight rides will be open at the park, including two new rides, the classic spinning Tea Cups ride and a unique Air Balloons ride.

Bree Salmon, Adventure Park managing director, commented on this year’s event: “We thought last year was big, but the 2021 event is even bigger with 2.7 million lights and some really jaw-dropping feature installations.

“We have new light displays going all the way around the 16-acre lake and we’ve completely transformed our huge undercover pavilion with a lunar lanterns exhibit, filled with zodiac themed animal installations and lanterns, it’s so pretty. Plus, there’s two new fun rides that kids will love, more food and drink options like the Schnapps Bar, more children’s activities and live entertainment,” Salmon added.

The Christmas Festival of Lights will be running from November 27, 2021, to January 9, 2022.
