Construction has started for Plopsa Group’s first hotel, located in the seaside Belgium town of De Panne.

The Plopsaland De Panne hotel will have 117 rooms with a total capacity of 350 people, alongside two bars, a buffet restaurant with outdoor terrace and three meeting rooms.

The building of the hotel is part of Plopsa Group’s expansion of waterparks, indoor parks and outdoor parks throughout Europe.

By 2023, Plopsa expects to invest a total of 250 million euros in its parks in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Poland.

Steve Van den Kerkhof, CEO of Plopsa Group, spoke of the Group’s requirements for a hotel.

“We already have seven thriving theme parks in Belgium, Germany, Poland and the Netherlands, where we have about 3 million visitors each year, but there was a need for a hotel.”

Plopsa’s CEO described the décor of the new hotel, stating:

“We focus on both Plopsa visitors and business tourists. The unique thing is that we attach great importance to the decoration. It starts in the foyer that we will design as an opera room.

“Of the 117 rooms, eleven are furnished as theme suites and fourteen as luxury suites. Maya the Bee, Plop the Gnome, Mega Mindy, K3 and Bumba each get their room.”
