Construction of Kunming Paramount Theme Park in the city of Kunming, China is expected to start in 2021. According to a statement released by the Dianchi Resort Management Committee, the building of the theme park will commence in January 2021 and take around 42 months to complete. The park is due to open to the public in June 2024.

The theme park will be divided into six themed areas – Paramount Avenue, Peanut Town, Lost Kingdom, City of Adventure, Dinosaur Empire, and Final Frontier. There will also be a logistics area. Within the different areas will be indoor and outdoor rides, attractions and amusement facilities, shows, restaurants, retail businesses, and more.

Around the world there are five Paramount theme parks, located in the United States and Canada. Another site is currently under construction in South Korea, which is due to open in 2022, and in London, which is expected to open in 2023.
