Sanderson Group is an Australian corporation with over 23 years of experience in delivering high quality themed tourist attractions. Luke Riley, business development director for the multi-national business, explains how the company continues to provide its clients with turnkey, value added, cost effective solutions.

InterPark: How are your company's operations currently faring in Asia?

Luke Riley: Sanderson Group has enjoyed 12 busy years in Asia after branching out from our home in Australia. We've completed design and construction projects now across the region for Disney, Universal Studios, Sands Casinos, SeaWorld and Warner Bros. among others. We continue to enjoy the wonderful relationships we share with our passionate clients, suppliers, and associations alike. Being a multi-disciplinary group with a service scope spanning from the initial research and feasibility stages, then through master planning, design, construction, specialty fabrication and operations consultancy, we have played significant roles in the development of our industry both internationally and particularly right here in Asia.

IP: Which countries within Asia – and particular regions within those countries – are currently experiencing the most amusement industry growth and why do you think this is?

LR: Some major markets in our area of the world are China, India and South East Asia. As disposable incomes continue to grow across these regions the necessity for entertainment and leisure destinations becomes ever more important. Through our consistent feasibility research and market analysis of these regions, we are seeing more opportunities open up right across Asia for unique integrated destination models to thrive in our ever-expanding industry.

IP: How important is the Asian Attractions Expo for your company? Has the show's importance increased over recent years?

LR: The Asian Attractions Expo is a very significant exhibition across our industry for all companies involved in this industry. The expo provides a fantastic platform for both exhibitors and clients to meet, share visions and talk serious entertainment.

IP: Could you offer any predictions as to the future shape of Asia's amusements industry?

LR: These are very exciting times for us in Asia with 27 projects currently underway in 12 countries – we are continually inspired by the passion for our projects in this part of the world.
