Disney Imagineers are currently working on designs to create a desirable ‘patient experience’ for the seven-storey building, which is set to open in 2010.

"It’s all about creating a place where children have the opportunity to not be so overwhelmed in an environment they have never been in before and to bring them the opportunity to play and have joy and to imagine and dream," said Meg Crofton, president of Walt Disney World, speaking to local press.

The $35m, 200-bed project began construction this week and will replace the existing Florida Children’s Hospital on the site.
