Following the success of its FastPass virtual queuing system and PhotoPass imaging service, the Walt Disney Company has unveiled plans to launch a new value-added service for its theme park guests.

Due to launch later this year, MaxPass will allow guests to maximise their theme park experience by providing unlimited high-resolution downloads of their PhotoPass images and by enabling them the convenience of mobile booking and redemption of Disney FastPass return times.

The premium MaxPass service, which will be made available on the Disneyland app, will cost $10 per day. The existing FastPass and PhotoPass solutions will remain free of charge, Disney stated.

Launched in 1999 as a paper ticket reservation system, the FastPass concept has evolved to allow Disney theme park visitors to book a timed attraction slot using its Magic Band technology.

As the group prepares the roll-out of its MaxPass service, Disney’s editorial content director, Erin Glover, said FastPass would soon be made available at two of its most popular attractions: Toy Story Mania in Disney California Adventure Park and Matterhorn Bobsleds in Disneyland park.
