Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Southern California, is to be transformed into a vaccination distribution super site.

The resort remains closed to visitors but will open this week to provide vaccinations for Covid-19. The vaccinations will be offered by appointment, beginning with those deemed as most vulnerable including healthcare workers and the over 75s.

Disneyland Resort is one of five super sites in the area opening their doors as Super Point of Dispensing (POD). The Dodger Stadium is another POD venue.

Doug Chaffee, supervisor of the POD at Disneyland Resort commented: “I’m proud to have Disneyland Resorts and the City of Anaheim both in my Fourth District, to be the first of the Super POD sites in Orange County.

“Residents in my district have been highly impacted by Covid-19. These Super PODs are absolutely critical in stopping this deadly virus,” Chaffee continued.

Andrew Do, acting board of supervisors chairman, said: “The Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first Super POD (point-of-dispensing) site – undertaking a monumental task in our vaccination distribution process.”
