UK family entertainment centre operator DP Leisure (DPL) has continued the rollout of its 360 Play family play centre brand with the opening of its sixth location, in Farnborough, Hampshire.

The company currently operates successful sites in Milton Keynes, Stevenage, Leicester, Basildon and Redditch, and has continued the expansion of what is one of the UK’s leading family play centre brands by opening its newest venue within The Mead’s Shopping Centre.

Housed within a 20,000sq.ft first floor unit, the new 360 Play venue follows the company’s highly successful entertainment formula with a wide range of activities for all young children, from toddlers up to the age of 12.

Everything included is designed so that adults can also join in and engage with their children through play, ensuring the centre offers a true family day out.

As with the existing 360 Play sites, design and master planning of this latest project was carried out by DPL’s sister company, DP Associates (DPA), who also project managed the build.

As with the Redditch centre, this latest 360 Play venture is a departure from the norm as far as the location is concerned, with all the other venues being sited on leisure parks or similar, rather than within a shopping centre.

The site includes a range of retail stores and the addition of 360 Play brings a whole new offer to the town as a retail and leisure destination for families.

360 Play Farnborough is home to all the classic 360 Play elements, which have proved so popular with families with young children over the years. Many of the key play elements and structures have, once again, been constructed at workshops at DPL’s headquarters in Milton Keynes, while local contractors have also been used for the on-site build.

“We are sure 360 Play will be a valuable and popular addition to the area as part of the town centre’s wider regeneration,” said DPL founder and managing director, Duncan Phillips.

Among the main attractions are a three-storey play structure from SPI Global Play featuring familiar elements such as a sports themed area, urban skateboard style area, ball showers, ball zones, slides and more.

Family bumper cars and a carousel have been supplied by Italian manufacturer IE Park/Soli Bumper Cars, which also provided the same attractions to all the existing centres.

Additionally, the 360 Street creative play zone, a key feature at all 360 Play sites, once again offers individual play units such as a fire station, supermarket, pizza parlour, vets and pets, car garage and dressing up boutique.

This roleplay and freeplay element is designed to stimulate the creativity in young minds, while also providing an opportunity for parents to get involved in play with their children.
