Dragons seek revenge on Schlitterbahn
"We are excited to unveil our one-of-a-kind family thrill adventure," said Darren Hill, Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort’s general manager. "Not only is this the debut of the first heavily themed attraction in our company’s 29-year history, but we are also proud to premiere many of the new state-of-the-art attraction effects in the waterpark industry."
After crossing a drawbridge and entering a castle’s guard tower, guests will seek to evade the attacking dragon. Boarding an escape vehicle, they will be propelled through a series of uphill blasts, rocketing them along the 1,360ft course, around the perimeter of the castle before descending into the moat below.
Guests will zip through dark caverns filled with a wide variety of special effects, including spinning tunnels, theatrical lighting, fibre optics, original music, aromatic atmosphere, fog, faux fire and an encounter with the angry dragon. Total ride time is one minute 45 seconds.
