Drayton Manor Park in Staffordshire is to open a new nautical-themed area known as Adventure Cove this spring.

The maritime-themed zone will feature new rides, attractions and experiences for families. It will be home to boats, steering wheels and barrels, as well as a new seafaring-style River Rapids attraction.

Other rides at Drayton Manor have undergone a facelift, including Shockwave which has been painted in vibrant colours.

The new zone is the first of a series of investment phases at the park that the new owners, Looping Group are carrying out.

William Bryan, managing director at Drayton Manor said: “We are so excited to welcome visitors on an exciting journey through cartoon-style fishing port, as 9-person boats serve as ride vehicles for the rapids course.

“We’ve been busy working behind the scenes while the park has been closed, and we’re really pleased with how the new area is looking already and can’t wait to see it finished.

“We are working closely with our local contractors and are hugely grateful to both them and the support of Looping Group for this new development,” Bryan added.
