DXB Entertainments, Dubai-based operator of leisure and entertainment destinations and experiences, has announced the first Legoland Hotel is coming to the Middle East, opening at Dubai Parks and Resorts in 2020.

The theme park is opening the Rove Hotel in 2019 and the Legoland Hotel in 2020, in a plan to have  a total of 1,300 rooms to accommodate guests by next year.

As Mohamed Almulla, DXB’s CEO, said in a statement:

“We will have more than 1,300 hotel rooms available by 2020, as the Rove Hotel opens during 2019 and Legoland Hotel opens in 2020.”

The Legoland Hotel is to comprise of 250 rooms and will be situated next to the Legoland Dubai Theme Park. Each room will feature Lego models. Guests will also be able to enjoy a castle play area and disco elevator.

The hotel is a joint venture between DXB Entertainments and Merlin Entertainments, the latter of which will operate the new accommodation venue.

Demand to stay at the Dubai theme park seems to be on the rise. During the first quarter of 2019, the Lapita Hotel, Dubai Parks and Resorts first hotel, reported a robust increase of 72 percent in average occupancy, a 10 percent rise compared to the first quarter of 2018.

“The Lapita hotel’s 72 percent occupancy rate for the quarter shows that people are responding well to our existing hotel offering,” said Almulla.
