Efteling theme park in Holland is gearing up for its annual winter celebration. From November 15, 2021, to February 6, 2022, the park will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with festive garlands, woodburning stoves, bonfires and thousands of fairy lights.

New to the event is the Warme Winter Weide, which offers a nostalgic festive atmosphere, featuring musical entertainment and bonfires providing warmth amongst the snow-covered fir trees.

The fairy tale forest will be illuminated after dark, with different scenes from much-loved mythical stories, including Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Pinocchio.

For a more active experience, the live show Raveleijin will feature several times a day, with stunt riders protecting the village from evil.

The park’s rollercoasters and rides will be open as usual, including the wild rapids Piraña, which will be open until January 9, 2022.

Efteling’s indoor attractions will also have a festive makeover, with a series of mystic scenes and storytelling. Visitors will be able to journey through the Tales of 1001 Nights, and experience Droomvlucht, where trolls, fairies and unicorns live.

Each evening the light and water show known as Aquanura will take place. Featuring jets of water dance, the show will be the largest of its kind in Europe.
