The opening of Europa-Park’s Rulantica waterpark resort moved one step closer recently when the German park performed a topping out ceremony for its sixth adventure hotel.

The 304-room Krønasår property will form an integral part of the Rulantica development when it opens next year. Joining the Mack family at the ceremony on June 27 were guests including IAAPA chairman Andreas Andersen, local politicians and electro-pop duo Glasperlenspiel.

Thomas Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park, spoke to the guests and around 120 media representatives: “From the spring of 2019, the stylish hotel, which is modelled after a Nordic natural history museum and offers extensive culinary delights, will be able to accommodate 1,300 guests.”

Guests at Krønasår will be promised “an overnight stay in a mysterious place”. At the entrance, they will be welcomed by the mystical and imposing skeleton of Svalgur the sea serpent. It is part of the storyline developed by MackMedia and Mack Solutions, surrounding the legendary island of Rulantica. Additionally, visitors can look forward to discovering unique artefacts from the mythical Adventure Club of Europe.

The new hotel will be connected by a pedestrian bridge to Rulantica Water Adventure Resort (as pictured above), which is expected to open in late 2019. The indoor-outdoor offering will feature an elaborate Nordic theme and 25 exciting water attractions. The entire project represents the largest investment in the history of Europa-Park and the owning Mack family.
