The Great Lakes region in the US will welcome a range of new attractions over the coming months.

Mall of America in Minnesota is preparing to open a new thrill ride this autumn. Located in Nickelodeon Universe, Shredder's Mutant Masher is a 5,000sq.ft interactive attraction that takes riders 50ft into the air.

Bay Beach Amusement Park on Wisconsin's Green Bay waterfront is adding two new attractions to its nostalgic-themed, pay-as-you-go portfolio, the Tot Jumping Spring and The Rockin' Tug.
In Illinois, Seadog Cruises has joined forces with the Chicago Children's Museum and now offers a special lakefront speedboat tour and museum admission ticket.

In October, Greenfield Village at The Henry Ford in Michigan will host the Hallowe'en, spectacle, while Cedar Point in Ohio has introduced Rougarou, a stand-up roller coaster.

The new attractions come as the North American amusement industry marks six consecutive years of steady, post-recession growth.

According to the Themed Entertainment Association's 2014 Theme Index, the top 20 theme parks in North America saw combined revenues of $138bn last year, up 2.2 per cent on 2013.
