The first ParadropVR paragliding simulator will launch next month at Universe Science Park in Denmark. Frontgrid, the Welsh company behind the concept, plans to announce a further two sites soon, both in the UK.

Conceived by chief executive Matt Wells, a former British Army paratrooper, ParadropVR is an immersive attraction featuring integrated gamification. It simulates the experience of flying a paraglider, with up and down motions that facilitate sudden drops and smooth deceleration.

Each unit has a footprint of just 2.5 x 2.5m. The modular design allows for multiple theming and content options. The attraction has been developed in partnership with Simworx.

Frontgrid has been shortlisted in the North Wales Business Leaders’ Awards 2018, in the Innovative Business of the Year category. The winner will be announced on March 15.
