The first surf park in Germany has been given the green light to be built. Powered by Endless Surf, SURFTOWN Munich is to be located in the municipality of Hallbergmoos not far from the airport.

The surf park will provide an authentic surfing experience for guests with waves that can be generated every ten seconds and can reach heights of up to 180 metres.

Endless Surf’s wave pool technology will be accompanied by a number of lifestyle facilities, including fitness areas, food and beverage, surf and lifestyle retail and lounge areas by the beach.

SURFTOWN Munich will be designed for all ages and abilities of surfing, from avid pros to novices.

Baptiste Caulonque, chief commercial officer of Endless Surf, commented: “This project is a showcase for inland surf by bringing a world class wave to an enthusiastic local surf community in a landlocked location.

“The venues will become a major attraction for Munich, with breaking waves visible as planes land,” Caulonque continued.

The surf park is expected to be up and running by 2023.
