Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s latest attraction, Turbo Track, opened to the public last month, complete with a dynamic preshow from Holovis.

The highly-anticipated ride launches guests vertically up out of the centre of the park and through the iconic red roof.

The adrenaline-packed experience needed a dynamic preshow to set the scene, and Holovis has done just that, by placing visitors at the heart of the story and providing a full immersion of the senses.

The attraction, which is set in Ferrari’s Abu Dhabi testing facility for new test drivers, features several ‘exams’ that test their reflexes and precision, culminating in a high-speed brake test, the launch coaster, that tests their courage.

Holovis scripted and show produced all aspects of the preshow entertainment, which includes extensive media throughout the facility and a live actor-led show within the attraction.

At the centre of the preshow is the Testing Room, an audience participation experience where an actor, playing the part of the facility’s assistant technical director, leads guests through a series of interactive tests.

For the Testing Room show Holovis cast, directed and filmed in its new production studio at the its headquarters in the UK, as well as on-location in Abu Dhabi.

“Holovis is unique in that we produce attraction design, AV and show content with our in-house teams,” explained Amy Steele, vice president of development at Holovis.

“Our engineering, show producing and media teams were able to coordinate the respective designs together, creating a show that keeps the energy levels and excitement high throughout and adds the unique and memorable element of a live audience participation show within the attraction.”
