Who else would you expect to celebrate the incoming Chinese New Year at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) than one of Disney’s most famous canine friends?

From now until March 4, “God of Fortune” Goofy and playful Pluto will take centre stage as they shower blessings on Disney guests for the Year of the Dog. The park’s Main Street USA has been decorated with festive Lunar New Year adornments and Pluto-themed decorations. In addition, a Chinese New Year Night Market is planned.

Like Hong Kong’s Lunar New Year fairs, the market is filled with mobile stalls that offer festive delicacies and specialties, but with an added Disney twist. How about Mickey-shaped Red Bean Pudding and Egg Puffs or a Disney Greeting Windmill, for example? Mickey and friends are also expected to make appearances at the Night Market to wish everyone Kung Hey Fat Choi (Happy New Year).

A range of more than 40 merchandise items for the season will be available at HKDL. Meanwhile the resort’s three hotels will present nearly 70 festive edible delights. And for Valentine’s Day, more than 30 romantic keepsakes will be on sale. Whether you’re feeling full of luck for the Year of the Dog or a touch romantic, Mickey wants your Hong Kong Dollars.
