Gröna Lund in Stockholm, Sweden, will add another white-knuckle ride to its amusement park in time for the 2017 season.

The new ride, a Sky Jump from Intamin, will stand at 95m tall and drop guests at a 90-degree angle.

The attraction, which will be branded as ‘Ikaros’, will be the world’s second attraction of its kind and unique in its design.

“I have pretty much experienced all that there is in an amusement park, and I can honestly say that this is one of the most terrifying drop towers in the world – but also one of the most exhilarating,” said Johan Tidstrand, majority owner of Gröna Lund’s parent company, Parks and Resorts Scandinavia.

“The feeling of adrenaline pumping through your system as you fall towards the ground, is hard to beat. I would really recommend everyone who has the courage, to try Ikaros.”

Once open, the new attraction will be the park’s 31st ride.
