Dubbed as the “first of its kind”, a huge new waterpark is to open at Bewl Water Country Park near Tunbridge Wells, East Sussex.

The aqua park will boast an extensive 3,000 square meter inflatable obstacle course designed for the whole family to enjoy.

The inflatable adventure course will comprise of monkey bars, two trampolines, an overhanging climbing frame, spring boards, slides, flippers, a giant iceberg and much more.

The aqua park has been named as Bewl Water Aqua Park and is due to open at the end of May in time for the summer season. The park will operate on timed sessions for visitors throughout the day.

Andrew Daniells, chief operating officer at Markerstudy Leisure, the privately owned financial group which acquired Bewl Water Country Park in 2015, said:

“This is a great attraction that complements our existing activities and will encourage people to get even more active and enjoy the great outdoors.”

Similar attractions at The New Forest Waterpark and Rutland Aqua Park are said to have proved ‘immensely popular’.

The state-of-the-art floating waterpark is expected to give tourism a real boost, attracting thousands of visitors from across the South East.

As Daniells commented:

“Bewl Water Aqua Park will create around 30 seasonal and full-time jobs, and we expect businesses in the area, including hotels, B&Bs, pubs and restaurants to benefit, from the additional visitors brought into the area.”

Councillor Jane March of Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is welcoming the new attraction to the region.

“Tourism is very important for the local economy and I welcome the investment in the area. This sounds like it’s going to be a great attraction and I’m sure the water park will be enjoyed by visitors and locals alike,” March commented.
