The Huis Ten Bosch theme park in Sasebo, Japan, has launched an interactive lighting experience attraction known as Fantasia City of Lights.

The attraction features seven indoor areas that use state-of-the-art digital lighting and projection mapping technologies. Each of the themed areas are inspired by different elements, including the ocean, the forest, space, flowers and music.

The flower-themed area boasts a flowering path, a garden of reflection and a flower shower. The ocean area offers a deep-sea environment, which is home to an ocean tunnel and a fluid wall of jellyfish. In the space zone, guests are invited to ride a rocket and absorb galaxies of light. The forest area features a colour-changing tree and a café.

Katsuhiko Sakaguchi, president of Huis Ten Bosch Co, said: “It is an experience-based facility where visitors of all ages can get a thrill.”

The launch of Fantasia City of Lights was delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The launch of the interactive Fantasia City of Lights attraction is the first time Huis Ten Bosch has opened a new attraction in 11 years.

The experience opened on March 20, 2021.
