Hydro Adventures, one of Missouri’s premier water and amusement parks, opens for the summer season on May 20 with a number of upgrades and attractions, including a 4,300sq.ft arcade and indoor laser tag arena.

Following an exceptional 2016 season under the management of United Parks, Hydro Adventures is continuing the park’s transformation into ‘two parks in one’.

As part of the capital investment made by United Parks, in the last 12 months Hydro Adventures has added a 55ft-high, 1,700ft-long Galaxy 500 steel rollercoaster for adults, and classic ‘Scrambler’ ride for the whole family.

The Poplar Bluff park’s other dry attractions feature a state-of-the-art family entertainment centre, batting cages, mini golf, the region’s only go-karts and other rides and attractions.

Discussing the new attraction installations, Barrett Byers, director of park operations for United Parks, said: “Hydro Adventures has transformed into the most dynamic amusement park in South East Missouri featuring both dry and wet attractions for the entire family.

“In addition to our current suite of rides, activities, and family entertainment centre, we have spent considerable resources to thoughtfully upgrade all facets of the park, including providing a full range of food and beverage options, a new laser tag arena, and a Mega arcade with 38 games and the opportunity to win exciting prizes.”

Operations manager Edgar Novoa added: “The park has been renovated and completely reinvigorated, and guests of all ages are guaranteed to have a blast any time they visit.”
