The International Association for the Leisure and Entertainment Industry officially ceased to exist at the close of business October 30, after the group’s operations were successfully integrated into the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.

As part of the merger agreement between the two groups, numerous IALEI programs and members have folded into IAAPA, which is now the industry’s principal FEC association.

IALEI president Tracy Sarris estimated that 559 IALEI members have made the transition to IAAPA, automatically qualifying for group benefits for one year through December 31, 2010.
