Adventure attractions specialist, Innovative Leisure, has completed the installation of a large, double level Sky Trail high ropes course, in conjunction with a Junior Sky Tykes course, at Drayton Manor Theme Park in Staffordshire, UK.

Named VertiGo, the nine pole high ropes course has a capacity of 45 users at any one time and features the familiar array of fun, challenging elements, all suitable for the family market.

Additionally, the Drayton Manor course features two of the new Sky Rail zip lines, one on each level. At 28m in length, these are the longest zip lines in Europe on such a structure and are automated, with participants walking their slider straight onto the zip track.

Likewise, at the other end of the zip line, the transition from zip cart to Sky Trail track is seamless, while the whole process is managed by a traffic light system and PLC controller.

In order to cater to the whole family, the brightly coloured Sky Tykes course, called VertiGo Tots, provides an introduction to ropes courses for the very youngest of visitors, with guests aged from two to seven being able to enjoy this element of the new installation unaccompanied or with parents walking at their side.

The whole area around the ropes course installation has been landscaped and a large service building has also been built by the park for the attraction to house reception, drinks, lockers and briefing facilities.

Commenting on the installation, William Bryan, managing director at Drayton Manor, said: “We are very excited about VertiGo as we have nothing like it at the park and it is sure to offer something unique to our visitors.

“We’re looking forward to seeing daredevils of all ages ascending onto VertiGo to put their bravery to the test and it will be brilliant to see them leaving with a smile on their faces.”
