Innovative Leisure, the adventure attractions specialist based in the UK, has announced the opening of two new Sky Tykes junior ropes courses at venues in Great Britain.

One of the new junior rope courses has been installed at Chester Zoo. The arrival of the rope course is part of the development of the popular zoo in the North West of England, which has seen major investment in new animal habitats, themed areas, attractions and facilities.

Sky Tykes’ 11-pole course features 18 adventure elements as well as two Sky Rail zip lines.

Known as the Treetop Challenge, the rope course is aimed at 2 – 7-year-olds and is the largest junior course of its kind in Europe.

The new attraction is located close to the Fruit Bat Forest and guests have to pay an additional charge to access the rope course.

Like with all Sky Tykes courses, the Treetop Challenge has a capacity of 25 and enables parents/guardians to walk alongside their children, if required.

A Sky Tykes course has also been installed at Center Parcs Elveden in Suffolk, which is the fourth Center Parcs venue in the UK to install such an attraction.

Known as the Mini Trek, the nine-pole course has a capacity of 20 children. The rope course incorporates 15 individual elements and a 14m long Sky Rail zip line at the end and is the first Center Parcs Sky Tykes attraction to include this new feature.

Steve Cooper, group outdoor activities and safety manager at Center Parcs UK, commented:

“We are always looking at introducing new ways to give families the chance to spend great quality time together, face challenges, try new things and have adventures in the forest.

“This new Mini Trek course is a great way for parents and children to traverse their way from start to finish, feeling a real sense of achievement once completed. Whilst they are surrounded by forest and alongside parents all the way round, they are never far from the ground and safely harnessed.

“It’s an amazing activity and we’re really pleased with the quality of product and quality of experience this offers.”

Phil Pickersgill, Innovative Leisure managing director, shares Cooper’s enthusiasm, stating:

“We are delighted to have completed the installation of two more Sky Tykes junior ropes courses at two such prestigious venues.

“The course at Chester Zoo provides another fun activity for young guests to enjoy while that at Center Parcs Elveden is a great new addition to all the outdoor activities available there. And the Sky Rail zip lines, which can also be added to existing courses, are an exciting new element of Sky Tykes which I’m sure will go down very well with those youngsters brave enough to try it.”
