The Kennedy Space Centre Visitor Complex at NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre on Merritt Island, Florida, is working on a new attraction.

The ‘Gateway’ attraction under construction is an interactive experience that will provide a look at the present and future of space travel through a series of interactive displays.

Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex is due to open in March 2022. The attraction will extend over 50,00 sq. ft. It will feature artefacts and exhibits set within a series of immersive displays.

A 4D motion theatre with atmospheric effects will enable visitors to experience the feeling of travelling through space. Among the artefacts is a model of the Boeing CST-100 Starliner crew vehicle, the Orion crew vehicle from NASA’s EFT-1 mission, and the SpaceX Falcon 9 booster.

The attraction will also feature an immersive area known as Spaceport KSC, which features the 4D flying theatre boasting four different journeys known as Cosmic Wonders, Daring Explorers, Red Planet, and Uncharted Worlds.

The Gateway will also feature a rooftop, home to a Planewave CDK20 telescope where visitors will be able to enjoy observing the sky.
