The children’s role-playing brand KidZania is to launch a new Japanese outlet in Nagoya. Set to open by 2020, it will join existing facilities in Tokyo and Koshien operated by franchisee KCJ Group.

There are currently 12 other KidZania attractions in development around the world. With 24 locations already in operation, the Mexican-born concept is the world’s fastest growing global educational entertainment brand. At each of its outlets, children from 4 to 14 in age can engage in a variety of professions inside a mini city.

Each of the replica shops and businesses at KidZania are realised together with commercial partners. At the upcoming facility in Nagoya this will include the mobile carrier KDDI Corporation. The partnership will create learning experiences utilising advanced technologies, like 5g or IoT.

“With this partnership, we’ll combine KCJ Group’s experience in edutainment and KDDI’s expertise in advanced technologies to support the empowerment of children, nurture their curiosity and encourage them to learn about the world of work in a fun way,” says KDDI president Makoto Takahashi.
