In a region that isn’t short of waterparks, Le Mer in Dubai has just launched another. Laguna Waterpark opened in May at the beachfront shopping, dining and entertainment destination operated by Meraas.

It encompasses four distinct zones: a surf zone, a waterslide complex, splash pad area for children and an AquaPlay water playground. Many of the slides and attractions were supplied by WhiteWater.
Visitors can watch surfers hang ten as they experience 180° of seamless surfing surface with FlowRider’s new WaveOz. The slide selection includes a Whizzard mat racer, Flatline Loop and Freefall slide. The waterpark also boasts signature attractions including a Constrictor + Sawtooth Super Bowl fusion, as well as an AquaSphere + Manta 55 fusion.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) already boasts high profile waterparks including Yas Waterworld in Abu Dhabi, Wild Wadi and Aquaventure at Atlantis in Dubai and Ice Land in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) in addition to smaller operations elsewhere including Sharjah. It will be interesting to see how Laguna establishes its place in the market.
