Turkish hospitality group Rixos Hotels will officially mark its foray into the theme park sector on July 1, when the company beings the soft roll-out of Land of Legends, a large-scale leisure destination.

Located in the town of Belek on Turkey’s southern Mediterranean coast, the family destination resort will combine education, entertainment, nature, adventure, retail, shopping, luxury housing and theatre.

Discussing the $1bn project, Fettah Tamince, chairman of Rixos Hotels, said: “The entertainment, leisure and shopping facilities will gradually open over the course of the year 2016-2017. The grand opening of Land of legends will be next year and it is going to be unlike anything the world has seen.”

Located steps away from the Mediterranean Sea, Land of Legends will occupy nearly 650,000sq.m, featuring a wildlife park, waterpark with 72 waterslides and a family entertainment centre.

“We have every possible entertainment facility under one roof, making Land of Legends ideal for families looking for an all-encompassing vacation,” Tamince stated.
