Landmark water coaster to open in June
Canadian attractions developer ProSlide has announced that its HydroMagnetic Rocket installation at Lost Island in Waterloo, Iowa, US, is on track to open for the park’s 10th anniversary in June.
Wailua Kapua, which translates to ‘Purple Hawaiian River Dragon’, is the 990ft-long ProSlide HydroMagnetic Rocket water coaster that will be the longest ride addition in Lost Island’s history.
"ProSlide crews having been working tirelessly to have the new blue and purple ride ready for the new season and have been challenged by the cold winter weather and the heavy Iowa winds," the Ottawa-based group said.
Utilising a combination of water lubrication, downhill and uphill gravity and ProSlide’s proprietary HydroMagnetic technology, riders experience the "magnetic pull" of the ascent followed by exhilarating speeds of the downhill drops.
