The new UK’s tallest roller coaster is back on track at Thorpe Park.

After a highly successful opening day launch, the ride was temporarily closed due to an unnamed issue for two weeks.

The park has since released various updates until the latest announcement that Hyperia will fly once more.

“She may have needed a momentary pause after the most epic of launch events, but she’s back in full flight and is ready and waiting to help you Find Your Fearless!” said a Thorpe Park statement posted on social media.

In another update, Thorpe Park announced on Sunday 23 June it will be hosting “Gold Day”, signifying 23 and the sixth month – making the 236ft height of the record-breaking coaster. And Thorpe Park will be encouraging visitors to dress in gold to celebrate the day with prizes to be won of a golden certificate from Hyperia plus on the spot gifts awarded throughout the day.

Now up and running, Hyperia once again becomes the tallest, fastest and most weightless roller coaster in the UK.

Hyperia’s track length is 995.4m, which is the longest of all the rollercoasters at Thorpe Park. Standing at 168ft high, Hyperia has the tallest loop in Europe.

Riders will be given a hearty dose of airtime, 14.8 seconds to be precise and more than any other rollercoaster in the UK.

Meanwhile, the outer bank airtime hill is the first of its kind in the world.
