Legoland California Resort recently hosted an official opening ceremony for the new Lego Ferrari Build and Race.

It is the world’s first attraction of its kind and has been designed between Lego and Ferrari.

Lego Build and Ride invites guests to build, test and race their own bespoke Ferrari. And young visitors are encouraged to construct their very own supercar – racing on one of three test tracks.

The tracks include a test zone, steering test track and speed test track. Each track offers a variety of obstacles, as guests compete to secure the fastest time over three laps.

Families can also participate by viewing overhead monitors and leader boards displaying the status of current races and highlighting top performers of the day.

The Duplo build zone gives guests the chance to use their imagination and design their creations out of bigger bricks.

A Lego pit crewmember is present to share Ferrari fun facts, race history, and show themed Lego race gear and awards.

The opening ceremony for Lego Ferrari Build and Race showcased a life-size, bright red Ferrari F40 model, which took a team of Master Model builders more than 3800 hours to construct.

Guests are now able to enjoy photographic moments with the masterpiece model at the attraction’s Garage space.

Commenting during the opening ceremony, Kurt Stocks, President of Legoland California Resort said: “Legoland California is thrilled to bring this first-of-its-kind attraction to Carlsbad, California.

“We know what a thrill the Formula 1 races can be, and we’re excited to give our guests a taste of that experience here at Legoland.”
