Guests at Legoland Florida, or those thinking of visiting, will be encouraged by the offer of free car parking throughout the month of August.

The Merlin Entertainments operated park normally charges as much as $17 per car per day. In return for such summer generosity, Legoland guests are being encouraged to bring new, unopened school supplies to donate to the Homeless Education Advocates Restoring the Hope program for Polk County Public Schools. Those that have pre-purchased standard parking will be upgraded to shaded, premium parking (normally $27) free of charge..

As well as all the park’s regular attractions, Legoland Florida guests can catch an all-new variety show this summer called Brick Builders. They can also create a Lego model for the park’s Miniland USA exhibit at Build-A-Minilander inside Heartlake Hall.

Merlin’s Legoland gesture might just be a smart way of luring families over from Orlando, where both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando charge as much as $20 per car to park up for the day. Located in Winter Haven, en-route to Tampa, Legoland Florida is roughly 45 minutes’ drive from its famous competitors.
