Scheduled to open at the end of 2011, the US$248m Legoland Dubailand will be a three million square feet facility, adding to the ever-impressive line-up of projects in the massive Dubailand entertainment resort. It will feature over 40 interactive family rides, attractions and shows.

"This new Legoland park highlights Merlin’s growing leadership in the attractions sector," said Nick Varney, Merlin CEO. "This is an exciting time for the group and we have a very aggressive growth strategy, including opening four to five of our midway indoor attractions each year, as well as continuing to develop our resort theme parks."

Merlin, the world’s second largest visitor attraction operator, is believed to be looking at a number of joint initiatives with Tatweer, including the possibility of Legoland-themed hotels and other attractions.
