Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has announced that its board of directors has split the executive leadership roles at the company, with Jim Reid-Anderson taking the position of executive chairman and John Duffey being named as president and CEO of the North American theme parks group.

“The company has strong momentum and tremendous growth opportunities over the next decade, and I am proud to have helped our team deliver record guest satisfaction,” said Jim Reid-Anderson, who took the Six Flags CEO position in 2010.

“Strategically and operationally, we are firing on all cylinders and I am extremely excited to mentor the company’s next-generation of leaders. John Duffey has been instrumental in our past success and is a proven leader within the company, and this is an excellent time to transition responsibilities and develop others on our management team as we continue building the Six Flags brand globally.”

The news comes as Six Flags reported its sixth consecutive year of growth in 2015. In the 12 months to December 31, the company saw revenues of $88m, up seven per cent on the previous year. Net income totalled $154.7m.
