Garmendale, the UK-based theme park engineering group, has appointed Kelvin Ensor as general manager.

Ensor has worked with Garmendale for many years, as both supplier and client in the automotive and engineering industries.

His role will be to oversee and strengthen the company’s business management, procedures and processes, along with adding depth and structure to the sales team through his experience in this area.

The appointment will free up more time for managing director, David Shelmerdine, to work with his in-house design engineering team on Garmendale’s ambitious new product development programme that started in 2015.

The programme saw the recent installation of the first QuadStar Vroomster ride for Alton Towers in the UK and the first QuadTrack, tracked dark ride for Santa Park in Finland.

“I’m looking forward to being able to bring all my experience and skills into the role,” Ensor said. “I’ve worked for over 27 years in both sales and service and 20 of these have been in senior management.”
