It was a Vegas-style celebration on Tuesday morning, as the ribbon was cut on IAAPA Attractions Expo 2009.

The capacity-crowd opening event, held at the Wynn Las Vegas, featured music, magic, announcements, awards and news.

"Finally, after 91 years, here we are in Las Vegas," said IAAPA president and CEO Charlie Bray as he greeted the crowd.

During the ceremony, outgoing IAAPA chairman Darrell Metzger officially passed the gavel to 2010 chairman Chip Cleary.

"To all of you who have guided me over the last 30 years, I say thank you. I will do my best to live up to, and exceed, your expectations," Cleary said.

IAAPA, which has been running throughout the week at the Las Vegas Convention Centre, closes its doors tomorrow. A comprehensive show report will appear in the next issue of InterPark.
