Following almost five months of closure due to the coronavirus outbreak, Nickelodeon Universe is set to reopen on August 10.

The indoor theme park will reopen under strict health and safety protocol, as the Mall of America has been collaborating with state and national organisations to ensure a safe return to operations.

The theme park will have a reduced capacity of 250 visitors. Entry to the site will be tightly controlled through a single-entry point. Guests will be able to purchase a two-hour ticket only, through which they can enjoy unlimited attractions.

A virtual queuing system will be in place which will notify guests when the theme park is likely to reach its daily capacity. Guests aged three and above will be required to wear a facemask at all times at the park, except when eating and drinking.

Social distancing markers will be in place in queues and rides will be sanitised after each time they have been in operation.

Jill Renslow, EVP of business development and marketing for Mall of America, said: “Reopening Nickelodeon Universe – even with significantly reduced capacity – is a positive step forward.”
